Superbike World Championship: history made at the Balaton!
Superbike World Championship: sporting history written beside the Balaton
The Balaton region's motor-racing heartbeat was the fourth superbike world championship race weekend on 9 May 2026 at the Balatonfőkajár track. Overall leader Italian Nicolò Bulega took a lights-to-flag win in Saturday's first race, writing another chapter of sporting history on the Balaton shore.
On the smoking asphalt of Pannonia-Ring thousands cheered the world elite as 600-horsepower superbikes thundered around the lake. Bulega's perfect start and flawless pace left rivals behind, proving why he is championship favourite. Further races promised treats for local fans whose Balaton proximity made the experience complete.
Why attend? Besides brutal speed and tactical battles, Balaton Uplands beauty – beaches, wine bars, hiking spots – frames the motorsport festival perfectly. Ideal family programme: track in the morning, lakeside in the afternoon!
See you next time at the Balaton!
