New pumptrack at Lake Balaton: inauguration ceremony for cyclists 🚲

BalatonLife

In Alsóörs, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, the new asphalt pumptrack was ceremoniously handed over on September 30. The facility, built on the site of the former bituminous sports field, offers local youth and families a modern, safe opportunity for active recreation right in the lakeside environment.

The nearly 35 million forint investment was supported by the Active Hungary Program, and the Alsóörs Municipality contributed significant own resources to its implementation. The handover ceremony took place in a family-friendly atmosphere: after a spectacular demonstration by the VESC Cycling section, the local youth immediately took possession of the new track.

The pumptrack fits perfectly into the promotion of active tourism and recreational sports around Lake Balaton. There is an increasing demand in the lakeside settlements for such year-round usable facilities, which offer an attractive program not only for locals but also for vacationers and hikers.

The new track contributes to enabling young people in Alsóörs to engage in healthy, movement-centered leisure activities, while strengthening the settlement's sporty, family-friendly image in the Balaton region.
