Time Travel in Balatongyörök: Filmio Movie Club with the Legendary Film 🍿

On the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in Balatongyörök, this October the local cultural offerings are enriched with a special film club experience. In connection with the 70th anniversary of the 1956 revolution and war of independence, the Filmio Movie Club will screen the film Time Stands Still directed by Péter Gothár, which revives the defining moments of the era.

The club’s concept is simple yet community-building: participants watch Hungarian contemporary and classic works together, then after the screening they jointly discuss the questions raised by the film, what they have seen and their personal experiences. This format fits particularly well with the autumnal, calmer period of the Balaton-side settlements, when after the summer bustle more emphasis is again placed on deeper programs.

In Balatongyörök such events not only entertain but also strengthen local identity.
