Bochum students flooding Lake Balaton? 😲
The Balaton-side Siófok has once again become home to international student exchanges: the city hosted the German exchange students from Bochum's Neues Gymnasium for the third time this year. The program is implemented with the cooperation of the bilingual department of Siófok's Perczel Mór Gimnázium és Kollégium, enriching the cultural diversity of the Balaton region.
The student exchange program was relaunched in 2024, and since then it has also been supported by the Municipality of Siófok. The German students get to know the Hungarian language, culture and everyday life of the local community in the Balaton-side environment. Within the framework of bilingual education, Siófok students also actively participate in meetings, joint projects and excursions around the lake.
Thanks to the support of the city leadership, the program can also strengthen Siófok and the Balaton region's international relations in the long term. Through the young people's experiences, the German students can take home the news of the beauty of Lake Balaton, while the local community becomes more open to foreign connections 🌊🇩🇪.
Such initiatives contribute to making Siófok not only a holiday destination, but also a living, learning and experience-exchanging community on the shores of Lake Balaton.
