Vonyarcvashegy calls: Move with us on the Balaton shore 🌊

The Balaton-side settlements are increasingly consciously incorporating four-season tourism into everyday life. In Vonyarcvashegy, the “Mozdulj velünk Vonyarcon!” event series is coming to life again, offering five special sports days for locals and visitors alike within the Veszprém-Balaton European Sports Region 2026 framework.

The fifth stop of the series awaits visitors on 2026 October 3 under the title “Meditatív Balaton”. The main attraction of the day will be cold-water swimming, which perfectly fits the idea of year-round use of the Balaton. The water program is complemented by a bike tour with checkpoints, allowing participants to expand their experiences with a land-based form of movement.

The events’ permanent starting point is the Lido Strand in Vonyarcvashegy, where the Sharky water sports school and rental operates. After every activity, organizers give participants a sticker for their movement-point collecting passport; these can later be redeemed for a 15 percent discount on water sports equipment rentals as well as Veszprém-Balaton 2026 merchandise.

The program not only serves physical exercise but also provides a community experience on the northern shore of the Balaton. The regular sports days help locals and returning guests maintain an active connection with the lake year-round, further strengthening Vonyarcvashegy’s tourism appeal. 🌊🚴
