🔥 Burning van scared drivers on M7 toward Balaton!

A box van fire on the M7 motorway at Balatonendréd km 117 surprised holidaymakers heading to the southern shore and Siófok. 🚛🔥 Expect traffic restrictions on the Budapest-bound side affecting weekday commuters and weekend beach traffic.

Siófok professional firefighters quickly reached the fully burning vehicle in the hard shoulder and stopped it with two water jets. Flames did not spread but lane closures slowed traffic. Balatonendréd, a quiet southern town, is directly affected as the M7 is the region's main artery to Balatonlelle, Balatonszárszó or Siófok's nightlife.

Summer fires at the Balaton are especially annoying: peak weekend traffic means many stuck in jams, delaying beaches, campsites and holiday homes.
