Kesz Group Balatonfondo 2026: Spring pedalling around Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton opens the season with sport again this year. On 1 May 2026 the Kesz Group Balatonfondo takes place – a true gran fondo-style cycling event that fits the lake's spring face perfectly.

Amateur and serious cyclists alike can start on different distances to ride around or across the Balaton. Routes follow the lake's finest sections: smooth shore roads, dramatic climbs on volcanic hills and fresh green Balaton landscapes. May Day is an especially beautiful time – blossoming trees, cooler water and clean air give pedalling a special mood.

Balatonfondo is not just sport but a community celebration. Local cyclists meet visitors from Budapest, families and those trying a longer distance at the Balaton for the first time. A great way to launch the season while enjoying one of the lake's finest experiences: cycling near the water.
