Kesz Group Balatonfondo 2026: Spring cycling celebration at the Balaton

The Balaton won't leave sport lovers out this year either: on 1 May 2026 the Kesz Group Balatonfondo begins, one of the region's most popular cycling events. Timed with the first day of spring, this special fondo-style gathering lets pros, keen amateurs and families all find their place.

The Balaton fondo's speciality is what we lakeside folk love most: riding in unmatched scenery around the lake. Participants choose from several distances to match fitness and ambition. Routes pass Balaton Uplands hills, sections near Tihany lavender fields and the lakeside bike path with constant lake views.

Why come? On 1 May the Balaton is still relatively quiet while nature bursts into life. Fresh green leaves, blossoming trees and the lake's cooler crystal water make the perfect backdrop for a sporty day. Balatonfondo is also community: meet old friends and make new ones among fellow cyclists.
