Waste Fire in Zalahaláp 🔥 What's Burning Near Lake Balaton?

Near the northern shore of Lake Balaton, flames broke out at a waste collection site in the outskirts of Zalahaláp, directly affecting settlements around Badacsony and vacationers there. The fire spread quickly, with rubbish burning over about two hundred square meters, and smoke may drift toward lakeside resorts depending on wind direction.

Professional firefighters from Badacsonytomaj rushed to the scene, joined by the Tapolca municipal unit. They work to contain the flames with four water jets, assisted by a Badacsonytomaj and an Ajka water tender. Crews successfully prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding areas.

Volunteer firefighters from Zalahaláp and Sáska also work on site, knowing local conditions. The incident shows how important coordinated fire preparedness is for Balaton Uplands settlements, especially in summer when tourist traffic means every intervention can quickly affect nearby resorts. 🔥
