Car crashed into bridge in Lengyeltóti! 🚗💥
A serious traffic accident Sunday evening in Lengyeltóti, gateway to the southern Balaton, briefly paralysed regional traffic. 🚗💥 A car spun several times on Fonyódi Street then hit a concrete bridge – fortunately only the driver was inside; ambulances rushed to help.
Local DELTA rescue, volunteer fire and civil guard units arrived first and quickly de-energised the wreck. Balatonboglár municipal firefighters joined for smooth rescue. The road was fully closed, especially affecting summer traffic toward Fonyód or Boglár.
Lengyeltóti is a key link between the Somogy hills and lakeside holiday zone. The crash highlights risks on winding regional roads: busy Fonyódi Street can be dangerous, especially in rain or at night. For locals it affects daily commuting; for tourists it affects beach access.
Firefighters report no personal injury, but a reminder for Balaton drivers: obey speed limits and prepare for Somogy's curves. Police are investigating; the road is open again.
