Balaton banner war: family peace wins! 🕊️

BalatonLife

In Balatonfüred, pearl of the northern shore, one of the most visible political clashes of recent months ended peacefully – waged with balcony banners on a local house. On this lakeside town where holidaymakers and locals seek quiet relaxation, feuding neighbours on opposite balconies have now reconciled as a family. 🏖️

Among the Balatonfüred homeowners, Sándor supported the Tisza Party with its message on his banner, while a Fidesz sign hung from the opposite balcony. During the election campaign this "banner war" drew national attention, but in Füred it was especially sensitive as nobody wants to disturb lakeside calm. Sándor now stresses that politics must not drive wedges between friends and family – especially in an idyllic place like Balatonfüred.

For local residents and holiday-home owners this is refreshing news before beach season. In Füred, where Anna Grand Hotel and Tagore promenade draw visitors, avoiding political tension is key to boosting tourism. The peaceful ending could serve as an example for other Balaton towns like Balatonalmádi or Csopak. ✌️
